Tony Pacitti RIP Irvin Kershner

So I’m really at a loss for words here. Odds are if you’re reading this that you know how I feel about Star Wars and The Empire Strikes

Back in particular. This morning Irvin Kershner, the director of The

Empire Strikes Back, passed away.

Kershner brought the best out of the characters and worlds that George had created. It was his directing, along with Kasdan’s script,

that elevated this world above the realm of Kid’s Stuff. He showed us

our heroes at their lowest…

Tony Pacitti His Best Friend is a d20

I have been very fortunate when it comes to endorsements for My Best Friend is a Wookiee. A lot of people whose work I admire gave their time to say a lot of really nice things about a book by a guy nobody on the planet had ever heard of. Some of them even took that extra step and helped me out beyond just giving me a blurb. Kevin Rubio was nice enough to show me around Comic Con. Scott Hinze had me on Fanboy Radio (that show will air next week, stay tuned). And Ethan Gilsdorf has taken me… Continue

Tony Pacitti Words From the Road (kinda)

So my book "tour" is officially underway. I say "tour" because with a few exceptions I won't be traveling out beyond my native Massachusetts and my adopted home state of Rhode Island. That being said, the book has traveled were I cannot. I've gotten a few messages via twitter and facebook from people who have found and liked the book. I can't do justice to how excited I get when that happens. People I don't know, who I will never meet and who I have no way of informing about the book beyond… Continue

Tony Pacitti Hot Off The Presses!

So I did a couple of signings this past weekend. I'll get more to that later (maybe after I've got a couple more under my belt?) But for now here are some cool bits of press for the book!

Tony Pacitti Hitting the road in four days!

I am on the brink of taking my first step into a larger world.

Friday will be my first book reading and signing, with another the day after. It's appropriate, I suppose, that these events will be help on old stomping grounds. Friday I'll be returning to UMass Dartmouth, the setting of the last few chapters of the book and home to four years worth of getting comfy in my then-new adult skin. It will be a fun, though strange return, since I am certainly a much different person now than I was… Continue

Tony Pacitti Don't stop here, this is Batman country...

As the sun comes up over Charlotte I'm left wondering how I could have better spent my time at Comic Con and why I didn't try to get a flight that didn't have a four hour layover in Charlotte. My trip to

San Diego, which was a whirlwind 36 hours of the world's biggest annual

comic book/movie/video game crossover come to life, was over before it

even started. Upon setting foot in the convention center I was

instantly in Oz territory. The stuff of fantasy was literally…

Tony Pacitti Talk amongst yourselves, I'll give you a topic.

In an effort to make myself come off as less, oh ever so slightly less, of an ego-driven, self important maniac I have opened the floor for discussion. If you head over to the forums you will see a few new threads where you can chime in with your own personal experiences/stories about being a Star Wars fan or, if you aren't as cuckoo for Dooku Puffs as I am, you can share why some other awesome movie or whatever is important to you with the class. Or just start your own discussion. The endless… Continue

Tony Pacitti Operation: Internet Takeover

So my plan to slowly take over your hearts, minds and bandwidth through

brute force and devilish charm has officially begun to unfold. Soon I

will have worked my way into your every waking thought, my whiny,

borderline lispy voice narrating your most mundane daily activities

like some bored, underachieving Sith Lord. Or, you know, I'll

periodically make updates, constantly worrying about whether or not I'm

nagging you all too much.

Anyway, there's a lot… Continue
